La importancia de la comprensión aduitiva I: Daily English Dictation.
Coach Shane te trae un concepto fresco, directo, práctico y lo que es más importante auténtico ''como la vida misma''. Basicamente consiste en oir una o dos frases recogidas en una película, serie, noticias, documental, entrevista, mientras escribes cada palabra que escuhas. Asi de simple y complejo al mismo tiempo. Estarás oyendo a nativos en diferentes situaciones tratando diferentes temas. Una vez más, tu misión es escribir cada palabra que oyes. Haciendo tal cosa estarás cubriendo diferentes aspectos al mismo tiempo: Gramática, expresiones, conocimientos varios (cultura popular) y, porsupuesto, pronunciación, la clave de todo.
Sea cual sea tu nivel, ponte a prueba, mientras vas educando tu oido y tu boca. Coach Shane te dice que oir es bueno para tu comprensión auditiva, PERO, hablar es aun más importante, es más, hablar es lo que ayudará a desarrollar aquella. Por eso es importante que repitas la frase o frases extraidas de la película, documental etc e intentes sonar como el nativo. Para ello cuentas con la ayuda de Coach Shane. Repite con él, imítalo. Recuerda el mensaje del post anterior. Aprende como lo haría un niño: Oir e imitar. Presta atención a las normas de pronunciación que Coach Shane te recordará una y otra vez para que entiendas el proceso y a continuación: oyes y repites (imitando).
Asi pues la dinámica es sencilla. Escucha el diálogo las veces que necesites aunque lo ideal es que puedas hacerlo en 4 intentos, PERO, no te preocupes por eso ahora, lo importante es que vayas entendiendo las normas de pronunciación y repitas(imitación) lo que oyes, una vez sepas la respuesta. Como todo, los comienzos siempre son duros, pero una vez que sepas la respuesta verás como es mucho más sencillo.

Then you need to dictate every single word in those sentences. You should be able to get the answers within 4 attempts tops. If you need more that's totally fine. Coach Shane's method can be sometimes pretty demanding.
But that's one of the reasons why Coach Shane's method is top-notch. It pushes your boundaries a little bit, so that you are constantly improving. Besides, let me tell you something here. This is real English. This is not a few sentences on a white board that don't take you very far. That's the real deal.
Now thanks to the internet and Coach Shane you do have the possibility to unlock your potential, to give your English the definitive boost. It doesn't matter if you're a beginner. All you need is lots of practice and dedication and in 6 months to 1 year time, your listening skills will improve so much you won't believe it. As your listening skills improve your confidence will just skyrocket.
Now Coach Shane's pronunciation method is about a bunch of rules - linking and cancellation - he'll be reminding you over and over again in such a way that you will see how it applies on every single dictation. This is a hands-on approach. It's not conventional at all. Just do some research and try to look for such an exhaustive English method when it comes down to pronunciation.
